The fundraising charity for the Royal United Hospital

The Forever Friends Appeal raises funds to make a real difference to patient care in our hospital. Our work touches the lives of hundreds of thousands of  patients cared for by the Royal United Hospital year as well as the friends and family who visit them, and the 3,500 dedicated NHS staff who care for them.

Although the Royal United Hospital is funded by the NHS, the charity allows us to raise funds over and above NHS provision, to further enhance our services and make our patients’ experience even better.

Funds raised by The Forever Friends Appeal helps pay for additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as finishing touches and ‘extras’ that complement the existing high quality care for patients at the Hospital.

The Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust provides acute treatment and care for a around 500,000 people.

As the hospital’s charity, our aim is to make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them.

The annual report takes a look at how people have been helping us to make a difference, highlighting some of the wonderful achievements of the past 12 months. It also looks ahead to our exciting plans for the future.

Our supporters include thousands of individuals, businesses and community organisations, each making their own unique contribution to make life better for the hospital’s patients and their families.

The Forever Friends bear phenomenon began way back in 1987. It started with the introduction of the Forever Friends Bears on a range of greetings cards.
